Difficulty in making an author the administrator
-
I have a blog on custom domain. I’m the administrator of the said blog. I’ve added an author to this blog. This ‘author’ is a fictitious one created by me using another email address as I don’t want viewers to relate me (the administrator having a gravatar) with this blog.
Now I want to make this fictitious author the administrator and want to remove myself from the blog but it’s telling me ‘cheating? huh!’
I am able to change the role of this author into administrator but then I see two administrators :p

Do you see the “cheating? huh” message when you go to Users > All Users > move mouse over you username > Remove ?
May be log out of all your dashboards, log back in and try to remove the administrator.

@chaintanyamsv, Thanx!
Now I know what the problem is… Users having multiple accounts, tens of blogs and multiple email IDs are sure to get stuck someday! :)
-
Cool, I suspected you may have multiple accounts :)
Glad, you are able to find the problem and fix it!

Nah.. Chaitanya. No success.
I turned the fictitious author into administrator. There were then two administrators.
Then I logged out from my account and logged into the fictitious account. I tried hard to remove or change the role of my account name (themishnish) but got this response:
“You can’t edit this user”.
I guess this doesn’t work in blogs having a domain upgrade.

> I guess this doesn’t work in blogs having a domain upgrade.
This may be true possibly because the domain is purchased under the original administrator account.Let’s wait until staff responds.

Your best bet may be to transfer ownership to that user:
