Difficulty in upgrading to personal subscription

  I live in India. I’ve been trying to use a Visa debit card to upgrade to a personal subscription. Reading other threads here, I am guessing that this payment method might be blocked in my country. May I ask the reason behind it? And also what alternative payment methods are available to me?
