Difficulty integrating child theme on twentyten

  I’m trying to create a child theme for twenty ten. My blog is http://www.thepetdoctor.org.

  However, when I follow the directions, the end result of the child theme is different from the parent theme. Specifically, the child theme lacks the same colored background and the fonts are different.

  I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the twentyten theme to no avail. My css for the child is as follows:

  My only thought is that the changes I made to the original twentyten parent css are being saved, despite repeated uninstallations and installations. Any advice on how to proceed?
