Difficulty renewing domain name
-
Hello, and thanks in advance for your help!
I bought InsightTravels.com through WordPress and need to renew it, which is proving impossible. I signed into my WordPress.com dashboard, went to the “store,” clicked “upgrade” but it then takes me to a page on InsightTravels.com that does not exist–that’s the loop. I even have a screenshot of the address where it takes me, the address being http://www.insighttravels.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=my-upgrades. Can you PLEASE help me renew??The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

HI there!
Your domain insighttravels.com is registered through a different account. In order to renew the domain, you’ll need to log in to that account and go to Store > My Upgrades.
The redirect is happening in this account because the dashboard you’re looking at is linked to your Jetpack plugin on your self-hosted site http://www.insighttravels.com.
Does that clear things up? Let me know if I can help further!
-
So do I need to unlink from Jetpack to do this? And if so, do I just deactivate it in plug-ins?
-
Nope! You don’t need to do anything with Jetpack.
You just need to log into your other account. This account (rathvon) is not the owner of the Domain Registration upgrade, just the Jetpack connection. You need to log in to the account that owns the Domain Registration upgrade.
I hope that’s clear! If not, let me know and I’ll explain further. :)

Wow, thanks for the quick reply!
I guess I’m confused because I THOUGHT I only had the one WP.com account (rathvon), which is the one I purchased the domain through. It looks like I might be wrong, but that leaves me a little clueless as to what my next step is. I don’t have any other accounts that I know of. Any suggestions as to what steps to take next?

Hi there!
You can see the contact information for the domain through the whois information, which might help:
http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=insighttravels.com
If the domain is owned by someone you run your site with, its probably their account that the domain was purchased with.
Let me know if that doesn’t help and we can try looking somewhere else. :)
I also wanted to note, your domain does not expire until June 2014, but it looks like your ICANN information has not been verified. Due to new regulations, every domain registered must have a verified email address. Not verifying your email can cause your domain to stop working. You can read more about the email you received as well as what it looks like (we know, it looks quite spammy) here:

Seriously, thanks for being so awesome…
So, the business is mine & I bought the domain, and unless I have amnesia, I only have one account. That’s my problem! Also, I apparently need to verify my account. When I clicked on the link, it told me to contact support if I did not receive that email. Can i contact you? lol…. hate to be a bother, but I know this is going to be slightly difficult and I can’t afford to wait until the last minute to get this done. Thanks!

I totally understand! I’m going to follow up with you via email so we can get you access to the domain registration. :)
