Difficulty with Tumblr import

  • Unknown's avatar

I have over 94k posts on my Tumblr. I want to start with my smaller blogs. However, whenever I click the import button, it says I’ve already got an import processing. But there isn’t an indication for it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there!

I’ve double checked to confirm your import is indeed still running. It didn’t cancel and is not stalled either.

This is why you are not able to import afresh. You should also be able to see a In progress notice next to that Tumblr site, on the Tumblr importer dashboard.

Can you refresh your page once if you are not seeing so?

We’re processing quite a few imports from Tumblr at the moment, which is causing a backlog of imports in our system. While it may look like your import failed, it’s just in line for processing, and luckily it’s still in the queue.

Please allow this to run for the next 24 hours, and if it hasn’t completed by then, update us here.

Thank you so much for getting back to me. I apologize for the late reply. This is what I currently see:

as you can see, it gives the option for me to import

  • Hi there,

It looks like the import on your sites has completed and no import is currently running.

If you’re still missing posts, please restart the import now – posts already on your WordPress.com site will be skipped by the importer. Please note that it might take a while to complete, though, as we’re still seeing a lot of new Tumblr imports being created so there’s still a backlog.

There are no posts on my blog from the import. And every time I click on ‘import,’ I receive this: “You can only have one running import at a time. Please wait for the current one to complete. If you need any further assistance please contact support.”

I am still having the same issue. Is there a way to just reset the whole import?

  • Hi there,

It appears the Tumblr import on your site has now failed, so I’ve reset the importer so you can try again.

If it seems to take long, please be patient and don’t try cancelling the process yourself – we’re still experiencing a high volume of imports from Tumblr at the moment causing a backlog of pending imports in our system. The imports are being run in the order they are submitted, but it could be a few days before your new import is processed.

Thank you. I’ll do that now.
