Difficulty with Word Wrapping
-
I have been having a difficult time getting the words to wrap properly around text. I have read and tried the suggestions I found in the FAQ’s but I am still finding that when I insert a picture the text drops to the bottom of the image if I positon it to the left or right and the text centers under the image if I place in the middle.
Example: XXXXXXXXXXXX LEFT PLACEMENT
XXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX text starts hereXXXXXXXXXXXX RIGHT PLACEMENT
XXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX
text starts here XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX
XXXXXXXXXXXX
text starts hereCan someone tell me how to get the text to actually wrap the images?

Please explain exactly which what you’re doing to get the text to wrap. There are several sets of instructions; obviously some work, and some are outdated.

I went to Support
Images » Image AlignmentWhen inserting images into your posts and pages, you can have your text wrap around them in order to promote a much better and attractive flow of content. This is a snap using the left and right alignment icons in your visual editor.
To begin, place your cursor at the beginning of any paragraph in the current post or page (this depends on where you wish to insert the image).
Click the Add an Image button in the Upload/Insert area.
After the image appears in the editor, click on the image once, and click either the left or right alignment button to modify the position of the image and how text wraps around it.This is the only set of instructions I found and used. Is there something other than this?

You can’t make an image center-aligned and have text wrap around it. Text should wrap if you have used left or right alignment though. Note that the behavior you described for some of the images sounds like they have alignment set to “none.” If an image looks like it’s left-aligned, but text is not wrapping, check to make sure the image really does have left alignment applied.

design, I have double and tripled checked the alignments yet I am still getting the same results of the text dropping to the bottom of the image. Is it possible that its an issue with the theme I am using?

In “Starbucks Coffee”, image 4 is right aligned, but you have inserted it at the end of the last paragraph, so there’s no text to wrap around. But the last paragraph is very short, so you need to insert the image at the beginning of the previous paragraph.
Images 1 and 3 aren’t left aligned (as designsimply suspected). You need to click on them (in the visual post editor), click the mountain icon that shows up, click Left, click Update. (And click Update Post after you’ve done with all three images.)

Pan, I went back and looked at what you were pointing out. Honestly, I did left align the images in 1 and 3 when I posted originally. Do I have to realign them after an edit?
As for image 4 I did set it to right alignment understanding that the short paragraph wouldn’t wrap and that was fine.
Thanks by the way for your help here. It is much appreciated.
