digg short code.

http://preparednesspro.wordpress.com IS a wordpress.com blog. Why would these instructions not work?
-
Thank you for the link. These instructions ONLY work on WordPress.com blogs. The site linked to your name is http://womenofcaliber.com/, which is not a WordPress.com blog. You will want to be changing that link unless you want to always be adding posts to correct the link in the forum. How could anyone guess your WordPress.com blog, out of five million?
Now: are you posting it in the Visual editor or the HTML editor?
-
I see, sorry for the confusion. This blog username represents several blogs.
I’m posting to the visual editor.
You can check out the bottom of this link to see how it is turning up once published as [Digg]
-
The alt text on that suggests that you haven’t entered the actual DIGG URL, but rather the post URL. You must submit the post to Digg yourself, then take the URL of that post on Digg and add it in the [digg=URL] code.
-
Thanks for the correction. I have adjusted it to be [digg=http://digg.com/d1r9cs] but it is showing the same message on the blog. This is what I found yesterday as well with a separate blog post that I’d submitted to Digg.
-
That’s not a correct Digg URL either. What is the actual URL of the page on Digg where the post is?
-
-
OK, so as an update, I have altered the blog post to contain [digg=http://digg.com/environment/Stop_Don_t_Throw_That_Away]. Unfortuantely, the response is the same. When I publish, it still says [Digg] with instructions to enter the Digg URL into the post.
Where is this Digg URL supposed to be?
-
Yes, that is the URL. I always copy it from the browser bar directly.
Have you tried using [digg http://digg.com/environment/Stop_Don_t_Throw_That_Away%5D instead? Sometimes the equals sign makes a difference. Also, try deleting it and adding it in the HTML editor; the sensitivity to that is theme-dependent.
-
Just tried your suggestion to go [digg http://digg.com/food_drink/Food_is_the_Best_Investment%5D but that didn’t work either.
SUCCESS!!! Trying it in the HTML reader was exactly what the doctor ordered! Thank you!!!
