How about moving your Subscribe Button from the bottom of the page to the top of a Sidebar??
CAUTION: if you have not changed your Sidebar Widgets then when you change them the default Widgets will disappear and you will need to add back the Widgets you want.

All wordpress blogs have two feeds. Anyone using a feedreader can subscribe but we cannot track those who do subscrobe by feeder.

one on top. one bottom of the page@timethief

i opened this link in incognito mode (chrome) & even asked my friend (not subscribed) to open it on his laptop.
No one gets subscribed. The widget simply says ‘Please check your email to confirm your subscription”. Now am i not supposed to enter the email so that i can receive the confirmation? -
There is no freestanding link to subscribe. People have asked for it. The widget is the only way.
YOU, personally, don’t have to enter your email because you’re logged into WP.com when you clicked the button, so WP already knows your email.

i was using incognito mode of chrome to test it. so actually, WP doesnt knw my email. :P
and i got a solution to the problem. :)
Just look at the source code! -

The best way I’ve been able to come up with is to put a link to the widget (which is on my main page). I use this code.
To receive email updates to this site click here.
On my sites I put the widget in my primary widget area, so I changed it to this.
To receive email updates to this site click here.
This is specific to the Twenty Ten theme and the current revision of WordPress.com so can break. So it’s a bit risky.
I then used the DIV tag to format the subscription notice on each page.
<div style=”text-indent:0;font-size:12pt;font-family:Ariel;color:#000000;background-color:#eeeeff;border:2px solid blue;padding:5px;”>
<p style=”margin-bottom:0;”>Want to read the next installment of this book and others? Sign up for automatic email notices in the Email Subscription area by clicking here.</p>
</div>
You can see the result of using the DIV tag at the following link. http://confederationtales.com/stories/catching-ultrawoman/#subnotice

Darn! The blockquote does not render the link code.
Here they are using back-ticks inside the blockquotes.
To receive email updates to this site
<a href="/" target="_blank">click here</a>.To receive email updates to this site
<a href="/#primary" target="_blank">click here</a>.Using the second option shows your main page with the blog subscription widget on the top line if it is the first item in the primary widget area.
