Directing my current url to my wordpress blog

  I have an existing url that I wanted to be directed to my new wordpress blog…I tried mapping it…but i don’t think that is what I was supposed to do.
  Blog url: http://designdevelopdotorg.wordpress.com/

  Ok being more specific,
  My company url is designdevelop.org and I thought by mapping this domain, it would redirect it to http://designdevelopdotorg.wordpress.com/.
  But it does not.
  Alternately when I press the link at the top of my wordpress blog, it takes me to the original destination of designdevelop.org which I created in google Sites.
  Hope this is clear enough.

  Just read the part about having to wait for up to 72 hours for affects to show up.
  I guess that answers my question. Thanks
