Dirty ads
-
I have a family-friendly blog, and don’t mind wordpress showing ads to users who aren’t signed in (in other words, I don’t necessarily feel the need to buy the no-ad upgrade). What I do mind is ads showing nudity and inappropriate actions. Is there any way to limit which ads get on to my blog?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The only way to get rid of all advertising on our free hosted WordPress.com blogs is to purchase an annually renewable No-Ads upgrade.
WordPress.com has been running advertising on our free hosted blogs since 2006. Many bloggers do not know this because despite the fact they ticked the box required to get a free blog, they did not read the ToS. Many also do not read features page, or advertising entry in the support documents after registering their username and blog(s). Also note that as the ads do not display to us when we are logged in, and as many use browsers with ad blockers when logged out, they may not realize they are there at all.

If you have screen shots of the ads in question then please send them to Staff support@wordpress.com

I understand that I was signing up to show ads, that’s not the problem. The problem was the specific ad that showed questionable content.
I unfortunately do not have a screenshot of it. Do you have requirements for ads – such as no nudity? I’m trying to decide whether I need to purchase the upgrade to avoid these questionable ads or not.

I’m sorry but I have no additional information aside from what is found here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/inappropriate-ads-appearing-on-blog?replies=16#post-673082

WordPress.com don’t serve the ads themselves and since people have been experiencing similar issues for a couple of months now they don’t appear to have a lot of control over what the third-party networks do. They can complain about specific ads and get them blocked, but they can’t screen them beforehand to stop them showing up in the first place.
Realistically, therefore, if you want to avoid dodgy ads appearing on your site you will either have to move your blog or purchase the upgrade. It sucks, but there really is no such thing as a free lunch.
