Disable AutoMagic Line Break Conversion

  Is it at all possible to have a blog hosted on wordpress.com not do the automagic line break conversion? It’s very, very, very frustrating to post an entry written in a unix editor and have WordPress insert a bunch of ‘br’ tags. This happens even when the visual editor is disabled. It doesn’t make any sense to me, it’s not a security thing or anything like that, it’s just very frustrating behavior that can’t be disabled. If I’m missing anything please let me know.

  Well that’s not good. Could this be a feature request? I just don’t understand why this behavior exists in the first place. It makes no sense to me unless I’m missing something.
