  in my gallery defaults to carousel–not working for how I have site set up. can you make a way to opt out of this? I have written in the past, and had hoped by now you would have reprogramed. I do know how to escape with permalink, but hard for customers-have set this up as a selling website.

  It’s really not possible to disable the carousel at this time.

  You might consider simply inserting your images one by one, rather than using the gallery feature:
