Disable comments on a static page

I apologize, I have found the enable/disable comments support information, and I have unchecked the three boxes that it says to uncheck, and all my pages are still displaying a comment box.
I would like to be able to have a few static pages that do not have comment boxes, and for some reason I am not being able to do it. Again, sorry, I am sure this is very easy, and for some reason I am not getting it to work.

    Thanks,
    Aaron

If your pages existed before you changed the settings, you’ll have to edit each of them and disable comments from the Edit page of each one.

Thank you raincoaster, I don’t know what is happening, but I only have 2 pages, and whether adding a new page, or editing an existing page, when I go to the discussions section of settings and unmark the 3 options regarding comments, it doesn’t seem to make any change to the page.

I will keep trying. Thanks again for the feedback.

If you go to the admin dashboard and choose Settings | Discussion, and uncheck “Allow people to post comments on new articles” you then have to scroll to the bottom of the page to click Save Changes. That should fix the problem for new posts.

If you want to remove commenting from posts you have already made, the easiest thing to do is go to Posts | All Posts to see everything you’ve already published. Then:
    1) at the top of the list, next to Title, click in the check box – this will select all your existing posts.
    2) in the pull-down box that says Bulk Actions, choose Edit, and click Apply
    3) Kind of in the middle-right, you’ll see several drop-down boxes appear. Next to the one labeled Comments, choose “Do not allow” and then click Update.

    That should do it!
