Disable comments on published pages

I need to disable comments on already published pages. There is no option to disable them by editing the page. Turning them off in the bulk edit feature doesn’t work. Please can you help and also update your help articles as none of them cover this specific issue.

Here is what I found when I tried following this article:

[note I am using an iPad but edit via a browser, not an app]
1. use the wp-admin menu
2. Go to pages and choose to edit the page I want to disable comments on
3. On individual page editing page, open the discussion tab and uncheck allow comments.On Bulk Actions – I found this support document:

And here is what I did..l
1. Use wp-admin menu
2. Got to Pages > All Pages
3. Either check the boxes for the pages for which you want to change your comment settings or check the ” title” box to select all pages.
4. Select bulk action Edit and apply
5. A dropdown box appears which will allow you to select Comments Do Not Allow
6. Click the Blue update button.This worked for me.

I don’t know if any way you can control comments published on pages you don’t own except 1) don’t make a comment on them, or 2) contact the owner of the page and very nicely ask them to remove the comment.
