Disable Hamburger Menu in Radcliffe 2 Theme?
-
Is there a simple way to completely disable the hamburger menu in the Radcliffe 2 theme?
Using the Premium plan at the moment. Seen it done using the CSS Customizer for a different theme, https://docs.themeisle.com/article/7-disable-hamburger-menu-zerif
For websites with a short and simple navigation, the hamburger menu is not necessary. And for slightly longer menu, text wrap would be fine. Show don’t hide is a good practice for UI.
Thoughts?

Hi –
The hamburger menu is only used for the mobile view with Radliffe 2. Is this the view you’re concerned with? That change with the menu structure is one piece that helps to allow the theme to be mobile responsive and scale appropriately.

Thanks for the quick reply. The functional purpose of the hamburger menu is understood.
But there are times, particular with a small site, when a simple interface is preferred without having to ‘tap’ through to get other menu options.
If possible, what would be your suggestion to disable the hamburger menu?

Hi –
With CSS you can remove the menu entirely from mobile view. That’s not going to be helpful in this scenario. I’ve not been able to find a way to disable the hamburger portion, leaving you the regular site menu as seen on the desktop view.
I’m going to ask my colleagues for their thoughts and will report back.

It’s not going to be possible to edit the menu in the desired way using CSS.
You could try building a child theme for the mobile view of the site but it is beyond the level of support that we can provide.
