Disable Historic Post Comments

    I know you can disable post comments at the bottom of each post. And you can disable comments in the Discussion area for all future posts. But I need to disable or close ALL comments for historic or old posts (100’s). How can I do this?

    Hi there,

    From your Dashboard, go to Settings>Discussion. On the second entry, “Other comment settings”, see the “Automatically close comments on articles older than…” option.
    Check it and set the number of the days at your best convenience. ie if you want comments to be closed for the 2015 posts downwards, put 44.
    Don’t forget to validate your changes by hitting the blue Save Changes button at the bottom left of the page.

    Thanks for this – I don’t want to close the comments, I want to remove them from all 144 posts and replace with a new comment FB plugin. If I wanted to, I could go into each post and unclick the Add Comment box at the bottom of each post. I want to remove the WP comment section from ALL posts so this new plugin can take over.

    Plugins like Jetpack have integrated .com and .org – it’s intertwined now. Unlike the days gone by. It’s a simple question and can be answered using any .COM site.
