Disable homepage slider in Photographer theme

  Hello!

  We are MORTIFIED to be asking this in the forum as we should be able to figure this out on our own, but we’ve spent the last 3 hours trying everything possible to disable the slider on the home page in the Photographer theme.

  At some point we may want to reintroduce the slider, but right now we need just one image that appears on the home page, and we’d like it to link to a page, not a post.

  This is why we’re using the home page content, set to appear underneath the slider, instead of the slider itself.

  However, we cannot get rid of the slider – if we delete the posts, the slider navigation buttons remain.

  We’ve tried every which way with the CSS, but cannot figure out how to get rid of it!

  Ugh, we’re so stupid – it was a stray hashtag.

  Hashtag? Hashtags are for twitter. They ought not be appearing in blogs at all. I think you must be HTML tag.

  HELP pls … I have the photographer theme and I can’t get the slider to work on the Home Page setting.

  I can only get it to work when I select slideshow, which puts HOME at the bottom of my slider.

  Also, I can’t get the Portfolio two column layout to work …

  I am not posting, but pages as my site wont be used as a blog.

  Please help …

  Hi @conceptdesignssb, the “slideshow” template puts the post slider above the content of that page. The slider will show only posts, not pages. If you can let us know what you want to do with your site and how you want things arranged, we can help get you there.

  If you haven’t already, you may wish to read through the Photographer Documentation which explains how to get the slider to work on the home page template and also explains about using the portfolio template.
