Disable Like Notifications
-
How can I turn off like notifications. There is a follower of my blog that “Likes” every single post that I make. It’s very annoying. My blog is geared towards locals and he doesn’t even live in the state. How can I turn off these notifications?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Eric,
You can change your Email notifications by going to Settings > Discussion in your Dashboard. I just checked your settings and it looks like you unchecked the email notifications for likes. Did you change it recently?
If it was already unchecked please let me know and I’d be happy to look into this further.
Thank you!

I disabled the email notifications weeks ago. I’m not referring to that. I also turned off the like buttons in posts. I’m referring to the button in the top right corner. The notifications appear in the drop down. I’m trying to figure out how to turn off notifications to avoid the annoying occurrence of a follower liking every single thing that I post.

Thanks. I turned on Likes per post last week and thought that that would eliminate the problem. I can’t figure out how this one person is still able to “Like” every single post I write. It’s very annoying and maybe it’s just the price of doing business.

Hi Eric,
That can happen because it’s possible for readers to like your posts in the WordPress.com Reader as it’s impossible to disable likes there. As a public blog there wouldn’t be a way to stop that unless you want to make your blog completely private and only allow certain readers access.
