disable SNAPSHOTS

  how do you disable those very annoying snapshots.. I searched in support search, and found this, among others.. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/how-to-disable-snapshot?replies=2
  it seems other users are also having a hard time disabling shapshots (and why does WP DEFAULT to snapshots?? it should definitely be opt-in, not opt-out.. it says in question linked to above “under DESIGN…” DESIGN?? where is that???? I don’t see a link “DESIGN” in my Dashboard on the left (certainly not under “Appearance” or any other drop-down..)

  Go to appearance > extras and deselect “Enable mShots site previews on this blog” and then click “save changes.”

  That forum thread was during the older version of wordpress. The dashboard underwent a major change a while back and that thread really should be deleted so as not to confuse – as was the case here.
