Disable User Registration
-
Hi,
We’ve just starting getting a lot of bogus User registrations on our site. Quick Google and everything points to a tickbox on Settings -> General (Membership : Anyone Can Register // Untick it !)
Of course, this option is available on self-hosted WordPress sites, but it doesn’t seem to be available on WordPress.com sites. The User Registrations are happening because of POST requests to : mydomain.com/wp-login.php?action=register. Not sure if they’re physical page visits or automated bots (I suspect the latter!)
I don’t want to allow users to register on our site at all, so how do I disable that option completely.
TIA
Chris
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there, if you’re not seeing the option to untick anyone can register, can you make sure you’re visiting the classic view of that page?
You can get there directly by adding /wp-admin/options-general.php to the end of your URL, so in your case, at amandawhitedigital.com/wp-admin/options-general.php — let us know if you need more help!
