Recently I started getting these in the WP notification area. They’re basically spam, can they be turned off or deleted? The only thing they add is another two or three feet I have to scroll to get to the notes that matter.

    Hi there,

That feature was added because many users asked for a way to see once a scheduled post goes live. There is no way to switch off a specific type of notification, but if you click the notifications icon you can switch between different types of notifications at the top of the drop-down. That way you can see notifications for only comments, likes or follows, if you don’t want to see the other types.

That makes no sense – a scheduled post goes live at the time you schedule it to go live. I understand it’s truly ‘live’ when someone visits your site but since the notifications have no time-stamp that isn’t a consideration.
Thank you, I know of the filter buttons, but there isn’t one for ‘telling me what I already know.’
If many users asked for this I’m sure there are many users that don’t want it too. Why not please everybody and provide a menu for us to configure what notifications we see? There’s one for email notifications so I imagine it would be just as useful. Or maybe a little “X” in the upper-right of each note so we can delete the ones we don’t want or need?

Thank you for the feedback. I’ll pass it along to our developers.

I’ll leave this open to see if anything happens. Thanks!

I heard back from a developer on this and it’s possible from our side to turn off an entire class of notifications, but not a specific type like here. But someone is looking into this. I can’t make any promises that this will change, though.

Thanks for checking, I guess this has become a pet peeve. Seems to me a notification is to tell you something you don’t know, you got a comment or a like for example. Your post schedule is something you DO know. It’s like a note saying “You capitalized your name!”
And if you’re seeing this notification you’re in the WP web interface or in the app and there’s a big button that says “All Posts” and you know what you can find there – yep, your scheduled posts.
And funny, but I scoured these forums and googled across the internet and couldn’t find a single request for a scheduled post notification on wp.com. A couple (literally, 2) for wp.org plug-ins but that’s it. And the plug-in isn’t that popular. Just an observation.
Put the post title and a time stamp right up front here maybe, but this just isn’t helpful – is that possible?

We get feature requests via private support requests (email/livechat) as well.

Including the post title and time stamp in the notification is a good idea, I agree. Especially for people who make many scheduled posts. I’ll pass that along to our developers as well.

Thank you, the title & time would put some meat on its bones. :)
