Disabled Customer, Screen Reader Not Working
-
Hi WP Team,
I am disabled and need to use a screen reader to do my job in which I frequently edit and upload content to my company’s WordPress site.
The problem is, WordPress does not seem to be compatible with the built-in screen readers in either Edge or Chrome. In Edge, the native screen reader will only read about 2-3 sentences on the page, then entire page crashes, dies, and forces me to reload. In Chrome, the screen reader doesn’t even begin to work at all.
This is a pretty terrible user experience and I’m disappointed that Web3 accessibility standards are not being met inherently. Being able to use a screen reader to write/create/edit directly in WP is essential for me. I can’t be forced to copy/paste things in/out of WP into a Word doc as this is just not suitable.
Working this way really causes a LOT of problems with my disabilities, and I would like WP’s support in helping address this problem.
Can someone please give me some guidance on why this isn’t working, or where to go from here? If I need to put in a feature enhancement request, I am more than happy to do so.
Thanks in advance and I await your reply.
Warm regards,
