Disabled Website

Hello. We are the official sports band of the University of Waterloo, located in Canada.
The University’s Computer Science club has reached out to us to inform us that we need to upgrade our WordPress to our most recent version in order to continue using our website. It has been disabled until we do this.
It is imperative that we get our website back up and running as soon as possible.
We have been having difficulties with this upgrade and are looking for assisance.
Thanks.
Waterloo Warriors Band.

Hi there,
Can you share the URL of the site in question? I assume it’s not http://waterloowarriorsband.wordpress.com/, as that site is less than a week old, and completely empty :)
It sounds like you might be using the open source version of WordPress. That software is made by the community on WordPress.org. WordPress.com, where you’re posting now, is just one of many hosting providers for that software, and we only have control over sites using that software on our servers.
If you’re using this software at another host, please contact that hosting provider directly for help. You can also ask the WordPress.org community for advice in their forums at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

Thanks.
That site isn’t hosted here on WordPress.com, but appears to be hosted directly on the university’s servers. We have no control at all over that website.
Please ask the WordPress.org community, who makes the open source version of WordPress you’re using, for advice on updating your WordPress version, as I mentioned above.
When you post to those forums, make sure to include information like the current version of WordPress you’re on, and details on exactly what’s going wrong that’s preventing you from updating – the people in that forum just make the software, and also don’t have any access to your site, so they’ll have no information at all over your site except what you give them.
