Disabling comments
-
I followed the instructions to disable comments but the comment box still appears on all my pages.
I double checked – both “Allow Comments” and “Allow pingbacks & trackbacks” are unchecked when I edit the page, but the comment box still appears at the bottom.
What do I need to do to get it to not appear?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If you followed the instructions here: Enable and Disable Comments — Support — WordPress.com
And it isn’t working, go to edit the individual Page or post and ensure the Discussion modular area is shown on the screen. If you do not see it, click the Screen Options at the top right corner of the screen (in the classic editor) and choose Discussion.
The modular Discussion box will appear down below the post content area, so scroll down to find it and ensure it is unchecked there for both of the options.
Also check Settings to ensure that you have turned off comments for all future posts and Pages.

Thank you. That solved it. Not sure why there are two editors, but while comments were disabled in the “non-classic” one, they were not in the classic editor.

There are actually three editors know, four if you are really counting. Two each (Text and Visual) in the classic and unclassic, as some are calling it. :D
The new editor is new, and a work in process.
Glad to help.
