disabling comments after some have been made

  sorry if this has been answered before but i can’t find the information if it has: if i disable comments (do not allow) does it wipe out previous comments made or just close them so no more can be added?

  It used to depend on the theme, but I believe now it’s been standardized so it doesn’t remove existing comments. Test it first on a post with only one test comment, by you, and see if that works. Always test first!
