Disabling Comments on Pages

    I am trying to disable comments/Leave a Reply on my pages that are connected to my home page. I tried going to discussion settings, but I’m not seeing an “Allow Comments” like WordPress support says I should. I also do not have a “Screen Options” available next to the “Help” in the upper right hand of the screen, so I’m not sure what to do; I looked all over the rest of the settings trying to figure it out…
    Any help would be awesome!!
