disabling comments & populating Home tab

  When I follow the instructions–which are clear–to disable comments altogether on my blog, ‘leave a reply’ still appears on my pages.

  Please help me eliminate all options for comments or replies.
  I am attempting to structure this blog like a portfolio–I do not want it ‘interactive.’

  ADDITIONALLY, lease explain to me how do I populate content into my ‘Home’ tab.
  I have looked all over the dashboard in pages and menu, and I cannot find the place to ‘edit’ that tab/page called Home in the navigation bar.

  It looks like you disabled comments site-wide here:

  https://shieldsnewyork.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-discussion.php

  However, that only applies to new pages (pages that you create after you disable comments). If you would like to disable comments on pages you’ve already created prior to disabling them site-wide, you can do that with the Bulk Edit option here:

  http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#bulk-editing-comments

  The instructions use the “Posts” example, but the same steps apply for pages.

  By default, the front page of your site is setup to display your latest blog posts. Since you’re doing a portfolio, it sounds like you would rather have static content (non-changing content that introduces you). You can set that up following the instructions here:
