Disabling Comments to Pages
-
I have followed the instructions in the support pages to disable comments to my blog pages (or posts) using the Bulk Edit option. However, once I make the changes on the bulk edit pages and click the update button, those changes are NOT made to my pages.
I was able to disable comments to posts by preventing comments to any posts over so many days old in the WP Admin area. But could find no such option for pages.
Is there some other way to disable comments to pages or is this feature currently broken? If it is broken, how long will it take to fix?
Thanks,
Kat

Hello Kat,
If you disable comments at Settings ->Discussion, comments will be disabled on all new posts AND pages you publish. However, it has no effect at all to comment settings on posts or pages that already exist on the site.

Of what pages are you speaking, though? http://regencyredingote.wordpress.com/ has only one page, and comments show as disabled on that page for me.

Curious! I have deleted all but one page from that blog, and that was the page for which I was trying to disable comments, since I shut the blog down last month.
I am very glad to hear that the comments have been disabled for that page, as I was getting a bunch of spam comments posted to that page over the course of the past few weeks.
Thanks for the information!

Kat

Just to confirm, can you give us a link to the page where you’re receiving those comments?

The link to that page is: https://regencyredingote.wordpress.com/about/
I tried again at the end of last week to turn off comments for that page. Though that selection did not appear to be accepted, since then, I have not received any more spam comments to that page. It must have finally worked.
Regards,
Kat
