Disabling Download
-
Yesterday I thought I’d create a photo blog to showcase some of my better photos in the interest of inspiring others obtaining feedback. But because wordpress seems to lack the will or desire to address the issue of disabling downloads, I’m having second thoughts about posting anymore photos. It’s not that I’m wanting to monetize them, just that I don’t think it’s right to give anyone who wants, the ability to take without at least asking.
A shame, I would have considered upgrading if it wasn’t for this.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I don’t know a single site that makes it truly difficult to download photos. If you’re concerned, you can always use Monotone or Duotone, both of which disable right-click, save. But any half-competent web user can still download your photos from sourcecode.

I have a friend that is a pro photographer and they just scale the image down and compress it – you can make a 4 x 6 inch print from it and that is about all – if someone wants to copy a picture on the internet is is easy to do – getting around right click save as noted above is quite easy – other people watermark the pictures and add a copy right notice in the corner.

I agree with scaling the image down and using watermarking. Here is an article with links to free online watermarking sites you can use http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2007/10/19/watermark-your-blog-images/
