Disabling likes for 1 post

For 1 blog post, I disabled the “like” button. There were already some likes but I had to do it since someone liked the post with a lewd avatar.
But then, a few others have managed to “like” the post even though no like button shows up on the blog post.
Please explain this one..

One can click the ‘like’ link that appears in the admin bar at the top of any page when one’s logged in, or in the Reader, and in various other places around WordPress where the blog posts show, and if Likes is turned off you still see that it’s been Liked, but it doesn’t appear near your post. Just ignore it.
