Disabling my blog
-
Hi I’d like to temporarily disable my entire blog. I’ve read that this is possible via plugins, however I can’t seem to access any plugins (there’s just a link to upgrade). Are plugins a pay-only service?

Most common plugins are automatically available on WordPress.com. So it is not possible to add any other plugins, even of paid plans. The only exception is the WordPress.com Business plan, which allows only three eCommerce plugins.
I’ve read that this is possible via plugins
This may be possible for self-hosted WordPress.org software based blogs, but not for the blogs hosted on WordPress.com.
If you haven’t got a chance to know the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org (self-hosted WordPress site), I encourage you to check it: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
On WordPress.com, if you don’t want anyone to visit your blog, you can make it private using privacy settings. You can learn more about privacy settings here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
You can probably set your site to private, using the third option in the above support guide.
Check this information and let me know if you have more questions. I’d be happy to help.
