Disabling title capitalisation and 'like' buttons for Dara testimonials
-
Hi,
I would like to disable article title capitalisation and ‘like’ buttons in the testimonial boxes on the Dara’s landing page. I have custom CSS module activated.
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello kderevenski!
You are going to want to put the following code in your css module, what I did was call the particular class that was housing the testimonial header 1 text:
h1.entry-title { text-transform: none !important; }Let me know if that works for you!

Great, Colleen, this worked. Thanks!
Would you have a solution for the ‘like’ buttons? I have disabled them (and sharing) in the page options but they keep appearing for some reason. Interestingly, I created a prototype site on a free account using this theme and the ‘like’ buttons are not there, only on my paid account.
Thanks again!

Thanks, Colleen:
Unfortunately, this solution did not work and the like buttons are still there…

No CSS editing is required. See the relevant support doc please: Turn Likes On/Off on Specific Posts or Pages

Thanks, Timethief:
This has been done first thing yet the buttons persist. As I mentioned above, I have two Dara themes in operation and on one site (free) the buttons do not show and on the other (paid) they do not go away!
Go figure…

Please post the URLs for both sites wearing that theme here.I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. Great, thanks!
My other site is a prototype and I would rather keep it hidden. That said, the official https://wordpress.com/theme/dara demo has testimonials without the ‘like’ buttons on the landing page and neither has my prototype.

I wanted the URLs so I could be sure you were actually referring to two WordPress.COM hosted sites and not to one site that was a WordPress.ORG software install on paid hosting.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Thanks, Timethief, I am aware of the distinction and all my sites (I have about a dozen of them by now) are on wordpress.com
I probably just hit an ‘it-should-not-be-there-but-it-is’ bug or something. Not the end of the world but I would prefer not to have it.
Many thanks for looking into this with me!

Good to know. Please be patient while waiting for Staff help.

Nice work here folks :)
@kderevenski since you have several sites, if you’ll let us know the first few letters of the affected sites we can take a look as staff.
Also, just in kind of looking through things a bit, I did notice that the “Show sharing buttons on” -> “front page” setting is on at https://wordpress.com/sharing/buttons/ for some of your sites. Bear in mind too that themes like Dara have a front page that is made up of other pages, so those individual pages could have settings affecting things as well.
I hope that helps.

Thanks, Supernovia, this was it! Sorted by ‘disabling likes on the front page’ in the global sharing setting. I went page by page originally, but of course Dara has this additional feature.
Many thanks once again to Colleen and Timethief for pitching in!
