Disadvantages of Using a Responsive Theme?

    Hi

I took over a website (dlhg.org.uk) with a few months ago. It was using the theme “Maywood”, which didn’t look great, especially on an iPhone and I was advised to use a modern “responsive” theme.

I’ve now done so, using the Twenty Twenty-One Theme, but
    (1) it’s created a lot more corrective work than I’d expected: see, for example,

    Some Speakers from Surrey

    (2) Space utilisation on a PC or Laptop is even worse than it was with Maywood, e.g. se

    Programme of Events

Could anybody suggest a better /more suitable theme, or any good ways of tweaking Twenty Twenty One to improve our website?

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi there!

We aren’t able to advise on theme and design choices on the free support forums.

I do show you already have an open support ticket with WordPress.com staff (ticket number 4198579).

If you have additional questions or need help with anything else related to your site, I recommend you continue your correspondence with them there as they are better able to assist you with your questions.

    I hope that clarifies things!

  • Hi @garrypaulbrooks, one thing I did notice about your question here: Maywood is responsive:
    https://maywooddemo.wordpress.com/

Do you want to check in with whoever was saying it was not, and find out what they meant? That could save you a lot of time.

Also, if you’re interested, we do have a service where an expert does a screenshare with you to work through the questions you have. If you’re interested, you can find that here:
    https://wordpress.com/support/concierge-support/

Or if you wanted to hire a developer to just take care of it for you, we offer that as well. We have more info in our forums sidebar.
