Disallow comments yields blank pages/posts. No way to get them showing

I am using the latest (3.9) version of WordPress with the 2014 theme. After configuring minor things of the blog like its name and tagline, etc. I went on to disallow comments.

I disallow comments because my previous WP blog was riddled with comments from BIGTIME LOSERS that post nonsense just to get attention or a return link to their site.

I was able to isolate the problem that IF I let comments enabled I can edit pages/posts and add new and it would be fine.

But if on the other hand I disallow comments either globally or on a post/page basis using Quick Edit, then the content will be there on the admin UI but when you view the site to view to page or post, all you get is a BLANK page with no content and no markup.

I then tried to get it back by allowing comments. But then, even if you enable comments again the problem persists and get a blank page unless you reinstall.

I tried by changing the theme -just in case- but the problem was theme-agnostic.

There seems to be something wrong with disabling the comments in the latest (3.9) version.

    Hi,

I think you might have a self-hosted blog. If you have a self-hosted blog, you need to ask support from WordPress.org instead. Their support forum is at http://wordpress.org/support/

Just create an account there if you don’t already have one and they should be better able to help you there.

(The WordPress.com forum is for blogs hosted at WordPress.com)
For more info about the differences between .com and .org, see here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    Good luck!

Thank you very much HoneySilvas! I was searching for my post like crazy and since I didn’t find it I posted it again. Now I see that the .com and .org forums are not the same.

Sadly no response on the .ORG forum, liked WP very much but if this is not resolved I will go for Drupal instead.
