Disallow pingbacks from showing in my Comments section?
-
I want my Comments section to be actual comments of readers, not Trackbacks or Pingbacks (or whichever is the correct term).
How can I make a setting which stops pingbacks from showing up in the Comments section? I mean, as a general action, not something that I can do every time I notice that there is a Pingback in the Comments section.

The way comments and pingback operate is coded into the core of WordPress software and what you ask is not possible on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. Sorry.

What you can do is disable all future pingbacks on each and every post and page you create.
This page > Settings > Discussion
Discussion settings is where you set up defaults for comments.
We can also overide the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any post or page.Go to the top right hand corner of your Admin page and click “screen options” and enable the “Discussion” module there. http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/
Pages > disable and enable comments > http://en.support.wordpress.com/enable-disable-comments/#enabling-and-disabling-comments-using-the-discussion-module
Edit page and under the editor box scroll down until you find the “Discussion Module”
locate and disable these:
Discussion
__Allow comments.
__Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page. For posts you create you can disable trackbacks and pingbacks in the same way.

Timethief, hi. Yes, I knew that I could go in after the fact and delete the pingbacks and also that I could check a box at the bottom of posts, but was hoping for a one-time fix.
I will do as suggested here.Thank you for the quick reply!
