Disallow reblogging
-
Is there a way to disable reblogging of my posts by other users? I don’t like it even if it credits me and I’d rather choose who can reblog me.
Thank youThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

No I’m sorry but that’s not possible unless you choose to chnage your blog visibility to “private”. You can read about it here http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2012/01/22/reblogging-is-back/ and in the comments on that post on the official WordPress.com blog as well.

I’d rather choose who can reblog me.
Do be aware that you have no control at all on who may choose to copy and paste quotes from your posts and link to them in posts of their own.

Have you read the “Reblogging is Back” announcement? If not I suggest you do, as well as the comments.
Here’s a particularly good discussion on reblogging between a WordPress.com user and Matt Mullenweg, who runs Automattic, the people who bring you WordPress.com:

Thank you @timethief and @justjennifer for the fast answers.
I know everybody can copy&paste without asking permission, but this is something you have to deal with every time you publish something. I read the topic about reblogging but I missed Matt’s answer. Thank you for showing it.
I actually choose a CC license and the terms of the act of reblogging are not against my principles, it allows credits to me and I think it’s fair. But it looks a little creepy to me :)
Anyway I hope it will be possible disable reblogging one day.

I wouldn’t worry about it too much, frankly. I did a comparison on reblogs between Tumblr (which exists PRIMARILY to reblog) and here on exactly the same item, and on Tumblr the item got a thousand or so reblogs; here it got one.
While reblogging may cause a visceral negative reaction for bloggers creating original work, it’s not as big a threat as it looks.

Is there a way to eliminate the “reblog” button on my blog? I don’t mind people linking to my posts or quoting bits from them, but I don’t appreciate having my entire work turn up on someone else’s site, especially on sites that seem to exist only to display other people’s work, not their own.

Thanks for the prompt reply @timethief and @notanative. I’ve politely asked the reblogger to remove my copyright photos, so will see if he complies. I don’t hold out a lot of hope as his site seems to be nothing but reblogs.

When a post is reblogged, it shows up with a link back to the blog it came from, the first image in the post, an excerpt of the post’s introduction (if it contains text), and thumbnails of any other images that the post contains. It also shows any comments left by the person who reblogged the postWell for future use here’s an anti-reblogging tactic some who don’t want their images reblogged have been using. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/reblogging-images-not-showing?replies=16#post-811335
