Disallowing deleting accounts is illegal in Europe.
-
Hi,
Due to constant troubles I’ve decided to take my website elsewhere. However, it turns out that it is impossible to delete the account at WordPress. This is however a violation of the European law on data, under which WordPress operates (outside of North America) as per the Terms of Service. This therefore has to be changed.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi,
You are correct – WordPress accounts can’t be deleted.
However, you can delete a specific site (including all of the content) – try following the instructions here – https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/

Hi,
Thanks for the help. I was aware of that and have read through the support site pretty thoroughly on this. However, I want to cut all ties completely and “be forgotten” as the European courts have put it. This includes removing the actual account itself. I don’t mean to be aggressive about it, but I do want it removed, and the law says I should be able to so I do think this is something WordPress have to address.
Again, thank you for your help.
