Disapeared format and add link, picture tools in posts

when writing a post, “format” or/and “add link/picture” and simiare, are disapeared

Do you have the visual editor turned on? Admin => Users => Profile and under “personal options” there is a checkbox to use the visual editor. As well, you might need to clear your browser cache. As well, be on the “visual” tab versus the “code” tab in entering a new post.

Even if my page still shows an error message at the bottom, the tools I was looking for, are now shown on post. I can, thus, continue writing the post. You are my hero¡ Thanks a lot.

We volunteers did not do anything to change things on your blog. We don’t have backend access. Staff AKA our beloved geeks probably used some magic dust or something on it. However, it seems that it still needs staff attention to get rid of that 404 on your front page. Hang in there because staff do read these forum threads.

Same thing just happened to me. I started the blog earlier today and did my first post no problem. Then I went to do my second post and was having some trouble editing it and saving it (I cut and paste a link with HTML code into the visual tab and hit save, saw the post was screwed up, hit the back buton, tried to delete all the code, it got screwed up totally. I tried the “delete post” button. It deleted. Then I tried the “write” post link to start fresh. When the window came up there was no more visual editor toolbar and the sidebar stuff, like add new categories, was frozen (meaning there was no more text fied to add new categories and the other items looked different too). Anyway, I followed the above trouble shooting guidelines, making sure the cache was clear and the visual editor box was checked and it sill didn’t fix it. Then I unchecked the box, cleared cache again, saved, cleard again, tried, went back, checked “visual editor” box, cleared cache, saved, etc. It still didn’t work. It’s like it is totally gone. This is my first experience with WordPress blog and I’m hoping this is not how things usually go here. Please help. Thanks a lot! -chrisco buzzpal.wordpres.com

Make sure the option to use the visual rich text editor has not been accidentally shut off. It does happen mysteriously sometimes. -> Your Profile
look for the checkbox and make sure the option is selected then click “Update Options”.Which browser and version of it are using? (Safari and IE6 are problematic.)
