Disapointed with the "Premium Service" I bought! Nothing is working as expected!
-
I have imported content from my blog at worpress.org to wordpress.com. I have tried the same theme ( by the way I see no difference what so ever between the paid service and the free one) and not all the content was displayed: there are pages with no content at all, the titles are missing.
I don´t know. I am very dissapointed with the service I bought! I just paid US$99 for the Premium service and I don´t see the Premium anywhere and I have spent many many many hours trying to make this blog look like the old one and I keep having problems. I haven´t been able to point the name server to wordpress.com since I wanted to have everything ready before doing it.
If I want to change themes it will not allow me since a lot of the content I imported from the old blog is not there. Why am I facing those problems?? Do I have to write everything again in order to have my blog as I had it with WordPress.org?
Thanks

Hi there,
I’d be happy to help with the issues you mentioned:
there are pages with no content at all, the titles are missing.
I took a look at your blog here: http://elfelipedemama.wordpress.com/
I didn’t see any pages that are missing content. Can you send me links to those pages? I can take another look for you.
I just paid US$99 for the Premium service and I don´t see the Premium anywhere and I have spent many many many hours trying to make this blog look like the old one and I keep having problems.
WordPress.com Premium includes these upgrades:
Those are all available on your WordPress.com blog, and you can read more about each upgrade at the link provided. If you have any questions about how they work, please let me know and I can give you specific instructions. :)
If I want to change themes it will not allow me since a lot of the content I imported from the old blog is not there. Why am I facing those problems?? Do I have to write everything again in order to have my blog as I had it with WordPress.org?
Changing themes doesn’t remove any of your content, but your posts and pages may be displayed differently in a new theme. If you’re having any trouble setting up a new theme on your blog, please go ahead and activate that theme on your blog. Then I can take a look and help you get it set up the way you want.
If you have any other questions or concerns, please let me know!

Dear Rachel, thank for your prompt response. My apologies for answering back until now. The reason I need as much support as posible is because I lack of time and when I want to blog I don´t want to spend lots of time trying to figuring out why something is not working as it should, why I no longer have a widget I had, why the video is not uploading properly, etc, etc. For me is waste of precious time.
Having said that, I almost resolved most of the Little tiny issues I was facing by comparing the old blog with the new one. Now, the questions I have are as follows:
1. I want to change theme. I´ve noticed that if I used the same old theme (Twelve Eleven) everything will look exactly the same, but I found the theme Twelve Fourteen nicer than the other one, so it is the one I want to use. However, I don´t see to find the widget for comments at the end of the post. I want every post to have a place where people can write me back. Also I want all the sharing options at the end of each post.
2. I would like to show all at least 5 posts or less at the front page but just up to certain paragraph, so people can take a fast look at the last titles/posts and choose to “read more” on the one that calls their attention. I have seen blogs like that and I found them more interesting than having to scroll down thousands of lines in order to check other stories. If I have to scroll down, I just close the page. Nobody has time. My perfect blog page would be: the last post up to the first paragraph, then the “read more” option and the widget where the last posts show up. When the person reads the post of their interest, they can share it and/ or leave a comment. Can I do it on this theme or should I look for another one?
3. How can I change the size of the letter at the Menu bar? If you check my blog at wordpress, the name of the blog ” El Felipe de mama” is very small.
Rachel, I don´t know if I am using the right theme. My goal is to blog, use pictures with the story and publish videos. I want my blog page to be very clean and easy to look at, with different options to check information ( cathegories) in a very friendly way as most of my followers are mothers with kids with special needs and as a mother like that myself, I need to make the most of my limited time as they do. I don´t want all the scrolling, the lack of simetry and interaction with the followers.
I have a last question: in my old blog with wordpress.org I used to have a widget for suscribers who used to receive a notification of any new post. That is gone. I don´t know why. It just simply disappear. This was another reason I looked for a better service with wp.com. I don´t have Access to the email addresses of the suscribers in order to send them a note requesting them to suscribe again. Do you have an idea how can I get that data?
I really appreciate your help and support here. I want to start as soon as possible!
I will be looking forward to hearing from you soon.
Best regards,
Arlyn

It seems there was an option enabled in your Customizer which disabled the theme’s stylesheet. I’ve switched it back for you and everything looks like normal again.
You can control the appearance of your blog with a Custom Design. Follow the steps in this guide to learn more about it: http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/
Please let us know if you need any further assistance!

Hello, I am still struggling with this tool!!! I have started the CCS tutorial ( I thought learning from scratch would be helpful) and AGAIN I am having problems!!! None of the instructions shown there are having the results expected. NONE OF THEM!!!
I have MO and I should be using Notepad and saving as HTML but nothing happens when I open the bloody file thru the browser. I even tried using Microsoft Word with the option of webpage. Nothing seems to work. What I am doing wrong??!!!
I need to know if this WP is really an option for someone like me. It seems this tool is designed only for engineers or PC nerds not for regular people like me.
I am so soooo soooo disapointed!! I am wasting my time like crazy!!! Its amazing! Nothing Works.
Really, if these problems continue, I want my money back. PLEASE PLEASE!!! I don´t want anything to do with this service. Really. Marketing wise it seems like a tool brought from heaven, in reality, you have to be a computer geek and have all the time in the world to even try to do the most basic changes: if I change themes, it changes the format of everything; if I add a widget it appears with a horrible type of letter; if I add a simple picture to the header, it shows it huge.
I thought CCS will help me but not even the most basic instructions in the tutorial come out the way it should be.
What can I do? I am desperate and totally frustrated with this change I have made.

Please make sure that you are adding CSS code under CSS at https://elfelipedemama.wordpress.com/wp-admin/customize.php?url=https%3A%2F%2Felfelipedemama.wordpress.com%2Fwp-admin%2F
from there you can follow the instructions at http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#custom-css
Otherwise let me know what you want to change exactly and I’ll try to find the code to make that happen.
Thank you.

Thanks for your response. Last night I started again with the tutorial and tried some other ideas. It seems to work fine. My husband and I applied some of the ideas on the tutorial and it worked fine.
If I need further help when I´m finished with the tutorials and start doing the changes I want for the blog appearance, I let you know.
Best regards and thanks.

Awesome!
Most of our CSS support is done in our community forums by both staff and volunteers:
https://en.forums.wordpress.com/forum/css-customization
When you create a CSS-related help request, please make sure to select or link to the WordPress.com blog you’re working on and include a clear description of the change you’re trying to make. It helps a lot.
Cheers :)
