Disappeared follower

  My blog is http://www.thetwodoctors.wordpress.com and my wife who is an email follower has disappeared from my list of followers. She tries to re-follow but gets the message she is already following!? How can I fix this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi brianmetters,

  If you share your wife’s email address with me, I can double check it from our side. Just type the address here as normal and it will be redacted from public view but I’ll be able to see it.

  Hi –

  I don’t see that email address provided on the list of email followers for the site.

  That information is at:
  https://wordpress.com/people/email-followers/thetwodoctors.wordpress.com

  As a first step, let’s try this.

  Have your wife load the site and then clear the browser cache before she tries to sign up via email to follow along.

  Solve Common Browser Issues

  Using a different web browser may also do the trick.

  I can see that she’s already following the site through her WordPress.com user account based on the email address provided. She can manage that from https://wordpress.com/following/manage

  Nope, still doesn’t work. Cache cleared but same message. When she loads the site it doesn’t show her as a follower, she tries to sign up then she gets the message saying she already follows the site! She has been an email follower for 3 years but this problem only began 3 days ago. We use iPhones and iPads so Safari is the only browser we will use.

  But, we have just discovered that she CAN sign in as a WordPress user! We are baffled by this, but at least something works!

  Ah, if her email address was used in the past to sign up for an account here, that would likely be what was causing the issue.

  Glad things are working now.

  She has been signed up as BOTH for 3 years and they both seemed quite happy together until 3 days ago. So, although she can now see and comment on the blog it’s still a mystery why she isn’t showing as an email follower. Unless of course a WordPress update has now removed her on the email follower side. I think originally she was entered as a user of the blog along with myself, but then thought she had to sign up for alerts etc as an email follower too.
