disappeared from google
-
Hi,
Can anyone help- I’m new to this game. I bought the domain name for my blog ethicalandgreen. Last week it was on page one of goggle for the search term ‘ethical and green.’ Now ethicalandgreen.com is no longer listed but it is there on page 5 as ethicalandgreen.wordpress.com. Is it common for the .com address to disappear from google or should I not be concerned about this?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks -
When you buy a new domain, it has zero pagerank. Until other websites start linking to it, the pagerank will remain low and Google won’t pick it up. Basically, it’s like starting over. It shouldn’t take too long to go up in the rankings, though.
Also, Google just did a reorg, which hit many blogs hard. Because your stuff is indexed twice (under both domain names), they’ll have downgraded you. The solution is posted in another thread, so if you do a search for “Google” you’ll find it. The original poster in that thread had a domain name that ended with .se if I recall. Just read through the thread and there are many tests and solutions there.
