Disappeared post!

  Hello, I published a post a few hours ago, and now it’s completely gone. It’s not in the trash, drafts, nor published post. I spent a lot of work on it – please let me know if you would be able to recover it, or at least tell me why it was deleted. Thank you!

  I googled my post and found the cache – luckily I was able to copy and paste my content without losing it completely. Can someone tell me how to prevent this from happening in the future? How would I know if one of my previous posts were deleted?

  I’m so sorry to hear this, but I’m happy that you were able to retrieve the post. So, after looking into your history I see that a post was deleted yesterday under your username. There has also been many files/attachments that were deleted as well. If this was not you, please update your password immediately.

  If you know the current password for your account, you can change it by following these instructions below:

  You can also change your password from the Settings tab on the WordPress.com home page:

  If you don’t have access to your account or forgot the password, you can request a new password by entering your email address here:

  Please carefully follow the instructions. You’ll receive an email during the reset process, so make sure that you read it for instructions. If you don’t receive the email right away, check your spam folder, as well, because the confirmation email can end up there.
