Disappearing Comments

I commented on a blog post (not my own) about 2 hours back, and now there’s no trace of it. Not even in the “Your Stuff” section of my dashboard. And not in “My Comments” page either.
My last two comments on a blog other than mine (posted about a week back) disappeared in a similar manner, except that I’m able to see that I actually posted those comments in the “Your Stuff” section of my dashboard.
The only explanation I can think of is that the blog owner has unapproved or deleted my comments. But is this the only possible explanation or could there be a technical problem?

The only other explanation would be if you were getting caught in the spam filter. Are the blogs hosted here at wordpress.COM?
