Disappearing images

  The images have suddenly disappeared from my ‘Egyptology’ page. Please explain what has happened to them and how I can get them back. Thank you

  Hi @penfreddie, it sort of looks like those images were not uploaded to this site, but were linked in from another.

  Are you able to see the images in your media library?

  If not, I’d recommend uploading them again, then editing that page to fix its image references. You’d just remove the image block, then add a new one with the images you added to the media library.

  Thank you! They were embedded but then suddenly disappeared. A WordPress issue no doubt that is, so far, unseen. I shall have to start again.

  @penfreddie, from what I could see, the images were hosted with a service called simplesite. I am guessing the site those were connected to was deleted.

  You’ll want to be certain to upload images directly to your media library, rather than using images hosted at an outside service. That way your site won’t be affected if theirs is changed or taken offline.
