disappearing images
-
Why are my images disappearing from my site? They show up when I post but then when I check later in the day all that shows are the pic files!
-
Can you give us the URL of one of the pictures, or a post where they’ve gone?
Please also change the link on your profile so it links to your WP.com blog. Other sites aren’t really relevant in the WP technical help forums. Right now, all we can do is guess because we can’t see your blog.

This is also happening to me! What can i do? I have included a link to the post as well as the URL

Try a proxy server and see what happens. Copy your blog url into this: http://anonymouse.org/anonwww.html

I have been following this problem for a few days – I have it myself. The quote below seems to be true – email from TinyPic’s support:
This issue appears to be specific to a network routing problem that is totally out of your control, and may also be out of the control of Photobucket as well. I’d seriously recommend that you contact your service provider and explain what is going on. They may be able to set you up with a Proxy to run your internet through that will allow you to access TinyPic/Photobucket. Other users have reported success while using a proxy.
We apologize for any inconvenience that this is causing you.
Thank you!
Your TinyPic Support Team

This means, that when other people look at our blogs they look perfectly normal. It also means, that bloggers who think, they do not have this problem actually do. What looks normal to the blogger looks like a lot of red crosses to their readers.
So: you need to put a link to a screenshot in here. Moderaters and staff can’t se the problem! :-D)))
This is what I see: http://i23.tinypic.com/15z1tgw.jpg

Here is a screenshot of katemartines blog and the red cross: http://i21.tinypic.com/2r6dspd.jpg
The proxy server trick does not work in this case…
-
My custom header keeps disappearing and I have to upload it again. It’s happened a few times in the last two weeks.
-
Yes, it does work with a proxy server om katemartines blog. I just tried an other one: http://www.phproxy.org/
Paste this url into the link above: http://thepursuitofbeauty.wordpress.com/issue-two-what-the-f-happened-to-issue-one/
This is spooky. The picture comes and goes…
-
okay, so what’s the verdict? We ignore it ’cause everyone else can see our blog the correct way? My bloglog looks the same way, bunch of words and x’s. I hate it. I’ve sent two questions to support, but never hear back. So bottom line…. what are we to do? Thanks
-
mamadubs – have you tried the proxy server test? I see all the pictures on your blog perfectly. Give us a screenshot of what you see, will you? We need to document the problem…
-
So far it looks like there is an error on a major server network somewhere in the world. This means that people who think their blog looks fine have readers who see red crosses instead of pictures…
-
@universalgeni: how do I make a screen shot?
@the sacred path: I did try logging out but it still looks the same. -
oh… and I did try looking at it in the annonymouse deal and the little banners show up. But, my links still look the same, though they do work. I’m so confused.
-
Help! Me too!
Images that have been up for a few weeks then all of the sudden disappear into a white square/red x. What gives?

@mamadubs
I see a customized image header and baby images in your front page posts. I am using a firefox 2.0.0.7 browser.@tracywall
I can plainly see your customized image header and the images in your posts. I am using a firefox 2.0.0.7 browser. -
mamadubs – you hold “ctrl” and “print screen” down at the same time. Then open fx. a paint document and insert the picture.
There is nothing we can do. We all have the problem even though some people think they don’t.

Here is my screen shot.See under blog roll, that’s what that looks like and lower on my page you can see or should I say can’t see the banner I used to link to certain pages. All the links work, but either no pic or it looks like that ugly thing that’s supposed to be my blogroll. -
Well, I must confess that I see red crosses too. I had hoped to be able to take a screenshot and show you that other people see your images clearly. Maybe someone else will take a shot to prove, that your blog is running fine?
