disappearing images
-
mamadubs – this means that both of us have our internet connections running through these damaged router networks. So when you look at my blog you shold se red crosses too: http://universalgeni.wordpress.com/
This is what my blog looks like to me – new screenshot: http://i24.tinypic.com/1e00ox.jpg

timethief – staff might have access to more qualified information about this picture issue. Do you think there is a way to persuade WordPress to share a bit of the information from the experts inner circles? My guess is that there is knowledge about these faulty router systems within VIP IT-environments or in bigger IT-companies?
-
Thanks for looking timethief. It’s not all of the images, but usually just one. When I re-upload the image again, it shows up. I have reloaded 2 images so far, now “White Mug on Green” has disappeared. It’s gone when I use IE and Foxfire. Just don’t know why certain images fall out after a few days, though when I reload the exact same image it’s fine. Any ideas anybody about how to prevent?

@tracywall
I just looked at your site, and do not see the pic either. I would contact staff give them the file name and see what they can do for you (I think they are around for about another hour). http://wordpress.com/support/ -
tracywall – your pictures have not gone. They are all there. Only: YOU can’t see them. Your internet connection have been guided through a big router network that malfunctions. We all have a few readers who see red crosses instead of images. There is nothing wrong with your blog or with WordPress. The problem is located in a mega server network somewhere in the world.

@universalgeni
I wondered about that, but this was the first instance where I was not able to see the images people were saying where missing. Do we know for a fact that this is the problem? -

This is not a wordpress.com blog linked to your username and we provide support only for those with wordpress.com hosted blogs. That being said I can see images in the blog using firefox 2.0.0.7.http://tracywall.wordpress.com is a wordpresss.com blog and again with the same browser I can see images in the header and the posts.
-
No, there is no official confirmation of this. But it is not a WordPress related problem. It is happening everywhere. The rumor based information seems more and more true, though.
-
Was that from her blog at http://www.tracywall.wordpress.com/ or from the site linked to her username? The white mug on green is missing on her blog.

@thesacredpath
You’re too quick for me on days when I can use only one hand and have to repeatedly edit. ;) See my last post. -
@tt
Sorry, I’ll type slower. (-:I clicked on the white mug on green and the image is missing from that page. Just the blue box with question mark.
-
The screenshot was from the link in your comment, thesacredpath. But I just checked the link under tracywalls name and I can see each and every single picture.
But why not try the proxy server test? Only remember – even proxy servers occationally go through the faulty router system. :-)

I clicked on the link in her sidebar and the picture was not there, nor was it on the front page. Just now I checked again, and they are there.
[mumble, mumble… stupid internet… mumble, mumble]

Sorry folks, I was off line for a few days. Ok now my White Mug on Green appears! Thanks SacredPath for verifying. I also noticed on the day it was gone that when I went to Browse my uploaded pics, that one had no size # below it. Anyway, all is fine now. Thanks all for your support and handholding!!

Hey gang… been off line myself and just now back. I’ve contacted support and they seem to be skirting around my question. Yes, when I use the anon site, I see my little banners. But isn’t it odd that my blogroll looks like it does instead of just he name of the site where you click. Why do you think I’ve got the box with the red x in it?
