Disappearing Photos

Hello: My photos are all disappearing from my blog posts. They are also gone from my photo gallery. Is there any way for me to recover them?

Hi there,
Images you upload into your media library and embed into posts and pages are on wordpress.COM servers. They remain visible unless or until you delete them from your media library. Deleting them from your media library also removes them from every place you embedded them in the blog and leaves behind broken links.
Staff cannot restore images you delete from your Media Library. You have to upload them all again, and then fix every broken image link in every post/page it was embedded into previously.
If you upload lots of images you can exhaust that free space allocation quickly. Currently, the only way to get an extra space allocation after you upload the images again, is to purchase an upgrade bundle. https://en.support.wordpress.com/space-upgrade/

Thank you for your reply. I did not delete any of my photos, They just disappeared, all on their own. However, I did not realize that there is a limit on them. I sure don’t have many photos at all now, for whatever reason. Guess all I can do is to take more photos when I make those recipes again. That is going to take a very long time….

I checked your account and it shows that you deleted quite a few image files from your media library about a month ago. I gather that it is most likely the same images that you are currently looking for. Do you remember doing this?

Sorry for the delay in replying and thanks much for your help. As I’ve said in every post about this, I did NoT delete any of my photos. They just disappeared one day. I did nothing–they were just gone. I went to my photo gallery to re-upload them, but they are gone there, too. So…I don’t know what to do.

Unfortunately, it is not certain we’ll be able to get your photos back. I’ll look into it, but if the deletion of the photos are user initiated (and from what I see under your account, it appears to have been), there is not much we can do.
Do you remember having any issues with your account about a month ago? Trouble logging in? Is it possible that your account was hacked?

Again, I did not delete my own photos. Don’t know how to say that any more plainly. I hereby officially give up on trying to get the photos THAT I DID NOT delete back. I’ll just start re-taking them when I make the recipes again.
And no, I don’t remember having any troubles about a month back. I have been logged in for several years.Thank you for your time.

Since you are saying that you did not delete the photos, I would be happy to report this internally and see what we could do to possibly restore the photos. But, I do need confirmation from the account owner of the blog.
