Disappearing photos

If you have copies you’ll need to re-install those photos post by post. You might want to consider optimizing those images for the web https://en.support.wordpress.com/media/image-optimization/ before uploading them to save space as earlier in this thread you did say:-

I removed old ones from old posts because I was running out of media room.

  • Can I re-upload them and put them back into the blog by editing it?

You definitely can, yes. Edit the posts with the missing images, delete the broken image appearing in each case, and use the Add Media button to add them back.

And to read the information on optimization @themagicrobot linked to above. If you resize your images to the size you will use them on your site before you upload them you can save huge amounts of storage space.

Resize them first? Make them large? That seems like it would take more storage.

No, not make them larger. You can keep the photos the same dimensions but a smaller file size. At the moment you are using .png images probably directly from a phone or camera. Many of your images are larger than 1MB in file size which is quickly using up the space in your Media Library. If you reduced the file size or even converted some of those .png images to .jpgs (which can be ten times smaller in file size) it would help you in the long term.

The other option would be to upgrade to the Personal plan which would double the storage capacity of your Media Library.
