Disappearing Themes

  What happens when a theme disappears from the site? I found a free theme that I wanted to use last week, and now it’s gone. I don’t remember the name, only what it looked like. Is there a place to search for recently retired themes?

  Hi,

  I can’t seem to be able to find a list of recently retired themes as well. Best I can find is by Googling for this keyword: `retired site:theme.wordpress.com/retired/, but then the search result is not ordered by newness.

  According to a Staff here:

  Retired themes remain active on the blogs that use them, so we don’t “pull the rug out from under” the bloggers and they are free to choose different themes.

  Themes are retired because they can no longer support the majority of new WordPress features.

  So, if you haven’t activated it previously, then you’re out of luck with that one theme.
