Disappearing thread

    Someone wrote a query today about RTL in Arabic. I asked him for clarification, if I understood correctly I could probably help, as I am used to using RTL. I am awaiting his clarification.
    Meanwhile, the thread has disappeared completely! Whether or not he replied, I cannot find his reply if there is one, and I wanted to help as it appears to be a common problem that I eventually solved. Where is the thread?

    Hey @halilac – you’ll find all the forum threads you’ve participated in via your forum profile https://en.forums.wordpress.com/users/halilac/ You can either bookmark that or click on your username at the top right of any forum page where it says “Welcome, yourusername” and it will take you to your forum profile page.

    Also, if you are interested to do so, you can subscribe to any forum thread via the Subscribe to this topic link in the forum thread sidebar.

    Since the problem recurred, I will tell you what happened.
    The support page only gave about 20 or 30 posts (one page) and there was no way of getting to earlier ones.
    I did a search for RTL and found part of the thread in a sort of summary page where there was no possibility of a reply and not all the posts appeared, though a few hundred others did. It was set up in reverse date order. I could find nothing I wanted and could do nothing, and put in my first post here (the complaint).
    Later I went back to this summary' page and found a click that said it was onsupport’ so I went back and this time there were buttons 1, 2, 3, 4 etc up to a very high number, and I found the thread on page 5 or 6 (I forget which). I then sent my second (retraction) post here above, thinking I had not seen the numbers, but today I found that they had indeed not been there.
    Today I again went to the support page and AGAIN there were no buttons 1,2,3 etc. I checked and rechecked, there were none. So I again searched, found the summary' page, clicked onsupport’ at the thread reference, came back and the numbers were there, 1,2,3,4, etc. to go back and find the thread.
    I have retested all this and it is clear.
    It would help if the 1,2,3, buttons were there in the first place — why are they not?

    Hello again, The forum front page only shows the most recent threads from all the individual forums and those forums are listed in the sidebar of the forum front page. Each of those individual forums has “pages.” The front page does not.

    There are tens, if not hundreds, of new forum posts each day and much easier ways to find your previous forum threads rather than combing through page after page of new threads or by searching for them.

    In my reply earlier in this thread, I mentioned two ways you can get to your forum profile and there you’ll find all the forum threads you’ve participated in, those you started, those you’ve replied to and threads you’ve subscribed to or added as a favorite. If someone has replied to one of those threads, you’ll also see that there.
